About Me

Holly in San Diego

Hi, I’m Holly Tunison, a UX/UI Designer.

My design journey started after completing my undergraduate degree in Communications at the University of Colorado Denver in 2020. While working as a hairstylist, I nurtured a passion for graphic and web design and was searching for a path into tech. A turning point came at a UX meetup in Boulder, where I gained a deeper understanding of UX design. This experience motivated me to enroll in a UX intro class at Boulder Digital Arts and pursue a 12-month UX bootcamp with CareerFoundry.

Since then, I’ve held various roles, including UX/UI Designer, UX Researcher, Web Designer, and Developer, accumulating valuable experience in freelance roles and a contract role with a bank. I actively work on projects at Bluewebshop, a web design and marketing agency.

I am pursuing a Master of Science in User Experience from Arizona State University, where I am delving deep into research, Accessibility, Prototyping, Usability Testing, Design Thinking, and Interaction Design. I’m passionate about learning how to design healthcare systems and Learning Experience Design (LXD) in my master’s program.

I live outside Raleigh, North Carolina, with my partner, Brennan, and our dog, Obi. We enjoy camping and surfing on the Outer Banks and in Florida in our free time. 🤙

I am actively seeking design roles and am eager to connect with others in the industry. Don’t hesitate to contact me to learn more about me or discuss potential collaborations!
